Job Title: Recycling Truck Driver

Job Description:

As a Recycling Alternative Driver, you will be responsible for interacting with our customers as you collect recycling materials from businesses, both large and small, throughout the Greater Vancouver area. The position also includes loading and unloading materials from your truck, completing pre-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Planning, preparation, punctuality and excellent communication with our central dispatcher are keys to success in this role.

This is a physically demanding job – you will be required to handle full totes on a regular basis, moving and transferring materials in and out of and within trucks. You will also be using hand-trucks and pallet jacks to unload larger equipment.

Requirements:

  • Believe in the work we do
  • Enjoy interacting with customers and co-workers
  • Willing to work as a team, take directions and make contributions
  • Class 5 Drivers license and a clean drivers-abstract (also drivers with airbrakes and higher classes – wages will reflect DL class and experience)
  • Must own or be able to acquire Steel Toed Boots for first day of work
  • A good knowledge of the Greater Vancouver area is helpful
  • Knowledge of Recycling Industry and personal commitment to recycling an asset

Working Conditions: FT, Mon to Fri, 7am to 3:30pm, overtime is sometimes offered

Job Title: Warehouse Forklifter and General Worker

Reporting to and taking direction from the Warehouse Floor Supervisor, the warehouse forklifter and general worker positions are responsible for maintaining the condition and flow of warehouse and materials in the warehouse and yard.

This position rotates through various tasks throughout the day such as:

Forklifting, loading and off-loading trucks, operating balers for cardboard, paper and plastics, sorting materials as required, tipping totes of materials, tote washing.

Qualifications:

  • Forklift certified ideal, but not required
  • Able to work with others and be part of the warehouse team
  • Able to communicate professionally and respectfully with co-workers
  • Able to maintain professional approach to work
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Safety conscious at all times
  • Able to think quickly and problem solve
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive materials in a secure and professional manner
